Question: Check engine light

 Rookie

My car started spitting and sputtering, then my engine light came on. I took it to a repair shop and was told that the fuel pump went out. After replacing the pump and filter the engine light came back on and it still sputters when your driving. Now the engine light is flashing. What else could the problem be??

    A Flashing Check Engine Light is usually the result of an Engine misfire. One or more cylinders are not working properly. I would suggest taking your vehicle back to your local Repair shop and have them Diagnose Ignition system and tell you which cylinder or cylinders is not working. An Engine misfire can cause Damage to your Catalytic converter.
