Question: check engine light

My check engine light came on, had it checked and code P0120 TPS Sens "A" Circuit malfunction came up. What is the throttle positioning sensor and what can I do to fix the proplem. Light did not come on the next day or not even todat which is 3 weeks.

    The throttle position sensors can fail it is located on the throttle body.A scan tool can read the voltage through the 16 pin socket under the dash without having to do intrusive testing. I would test the sensor first before jumping to conclusions. Autozone have some popular workshop manuals for free on line once you register (for free) on their website http://bit.ly/autozone_repair_info .There is a company that independent auto repair shops "buy" their information from that offer a very reasonable service to do it yourselvers.
