check engine light on 1995 Toyota Celica

ihave 184,000 miles on my celica and up out of nowhere i got a check engine light......everything has run just fine up until yesterday.....any ideas of where to start?

Start by checking the codes that are stored in the engine control module. Once you have the code, follow the troubleshooting info for that code. Get info about how to do this from a good repair manual, I suggest this site:

My water pump was changed out, after driving 15 miles the check engine light came on. Am worried the tension is too tight and will cause the water pump to fail again.
