This is the description of the code: P1423 80 Secondary Air System (Bank 1) This is part of the air injection system, which helps to reduce exhaust emissions as the engine is warming up by pumping air into the exhaust system. These systems have a check valve that can fail, as well as the air pump itself. The system will have to be checked and repaired to be able to get the check engine light to go out and pass inspection.
