This happened to me on my A6 a few months back. On the engine block you have 3 RED spark plug coils on each side ( for a 6 cylinder) , and they can be pulled out to replace the plugs. I had a problem with #4 mis fire, and took it to the midas shop, and they replaced it for about $220.00. Make sure that its the coil, it could just be a bad spark plug.
