Question: check engine codes 420, 430 & 1622

Check engine light is on & these codes come up. Car has had aftremarket cats installed it has 98,000 miles on it is in good shape otherwise as it has always been garage kept. tx, Doug

    Sorry to tell you this, but your aftermarket cats are not meeting the operating criteria for your vehicle. There is conflicting info on aftermarket cats. Used cats are not supposed to be sold at all and there are no universal fit models. On OBD-II vehicles like yours the operating parameters for the emissions system are very precise and specific, so the chances of an aftermarket manufacturer making a unit that will work correctly in your vehicle are not good. You should try and work a deal with the company that installed the units to see if you can get credit and have them install factory OEM cats. Good luck.

    Irvtech, your ans is the standard ans that most have had. The one code is for a temp sensor that was not regestering, I replaced the sensor & the check engine light is GONE. I have been told that if there is a problem w/ the cats "I will know it". Thanks anyhow!!!!
