Question: check eng light with vehicle stability control light 66,000 miles ?

AS IN THE SUMMARY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AS WELL AS THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (VSC) IS ILLUMINATED. THIS IS AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE CAR. ANYONE WITH IDEAS? WIFE'S CAR. USED EVERY DAY 45 MILES TO AND FROM WORK. JUST HAD FRONT BRAKES REDONE AT LEXUS DEALER.

You need to have the codes pulled to see where the system failure occurred. a shop can access the stability controls with a scan tool. the engine code can be pulled for free from autozone or pepboys.

mine did this same thing. it turned out to be one of the individual voltage regulator
modules. mine was the no 5 cyl. it is located on the back right cyl facing to the rear.
i replaced all three as there is a lot of work involved in getting to these buggers. cost was about $72.00 for each regulator plus about $10 for each plug. HARD JOB

This happened to me too on two separate occasions. Both times it was a bad ignition coil. The ones in the back are particularly hard to get to.
