Code P0446 which says Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit came up on my scanner. Searched online for code P0446 and found that most charcoal canisters were the problem. I took a look under by the fuel tank and found that the canister had one end of the hose connected to it, and the other end of that same hose not connected to anything. Looked around under and didn't see anything around to connect it to. Is this hose suppose to be just hanging around?

You may have found the breather hose for the canister shut valve. .There is a company that independent auto repair shops "buy" their information from that offer a very reasonable service to do it yourselvers. You get a one year subscription to year make and model specific repair procedures, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... great quality information same as the professionals have ,much better than generic workshop manuals from parts stores, much cheaper than the factory manual. http://bit.ly/alldata_repair_manuals or try http://bit.ly/mitchell_repair_manuals_online and get an online repair manual subscription.

...hese EVAP system faults can be difficult to diagnose but it is not uncommon to find a failed charcoal canister or a loose or worn gas cap.
