on the pump in fuel tank..when pulled fuel line off fuel filter going to injector pump i get a fast good stream of fuel for 1 second or so when first turn key on then stops..is this pump only runs for a second and shuts off or should it run non-stop with hose off of fuel filter outlet line?why asking is have only air bubbles at injector lines[no fuel coming ot of injector pump;;engine will run on wd40 only if keep spraying into intake..if i turn key on and off servail times eng will start then die within seconds;;

When you turn on the key the fuel pump turns on for about 3 seconds to prime the fuel system which is normal. It may be a little shorter. It sounds like one of your sensors are not communicating with the PCM causing no fuel delivery. Possible problem with crankshaft position sensor which is used more for spark but info is also used by PCM for fuel, or problem with camshaft position sensor which is used for fuel. Be shure everything is plugged in and advice of codes if possible so we could be of more help.
assuming crankshaft position sensor is on rear of engine above flywheel..correct? where is cam postion sensor located? i do have a plug that was under radiator and found a hole beside lincence plate that looks as if it would go there but not sure..looked under van up front and couldn't find anywhere else it may plug into but could it be the camshaft sensor plug?
I am wondering if you ever got this fixed. I have a simular problem. But I do know the answer you got waqs wrong. When you turn on the key the low pressure fuel pump should go on for 20 second. In fact you do this too bleed water from the filter. 1 second is because the computer is shutting down. If you can let me know if you solved the problem it may help me to find mine. Thanks
