Does the tranmission fluid need to be changed at 53000 mi ?

  Mfg. says yes around this mileage. Check your owners manual for the exact mileage. Check the condition of your fluid on the dipstick, it should be red in color and no burnt smell. If it is brownish to brown colored and or smells burnt, it is time for sure. Better to be safe then sorry, use these signs along with mileage to gauge when to change it.
