I just bought this car thinking only the bolt for the shifter was loose. Test drove great. So on my way home it got stuck in first gear. So I ripped the cover off in a hurry so I didn't hold traffic up to long and seen the sleeve that protects my cable slid back and my cable bent. Is there an easy fix for this or do I have to replace the entire cable? If so how do I install a new cable?

MasterWould need to replace whole cable. One end of cable is at the shifter and the other is at trans linkage. Would need to remove any access components and hold downs. Remove and reinstall in reverse and adjsut as needed. Usually has no adjustment I believe but could be wrong.

raiderron, March 03, 2011, 10:40MasterIf it is what I believe you are talking about that is the housing that the cable slides in and out of. Comes with new cable. will be held down by one of the attaching components.
