do i change the oil pump from the front of the motor or the bottom of the motor.

   Master

  Drain the cooling system. Remove the radiator fan. Remove the accessory drive belts. Remove the timing belt. Remove the crankshaft sprocket.
  Remove the oil pan. Remove the oil pickup tube. Remove the oil pump fasteners. Remove pump and gasket from engine

  Why would you have to do all the work on the front end? Can you not access oil pump assy by just dropping the oil pan cover from beneath?
