what else can be wrong. air comes out and the ac works just not the heater. could it be the heater core.

Under the hood, on some of these models, there is a valve that is inline with the heater hose, make sure it is working! If not it will not allow hot coolant to flow through the heater core resulting in no heat! Check to see if the small vacuum tube is hooked up to this valve. MAY be able to move the valve lever manually to see if heat will work then.
