Change Automatic Transmission Oil Every 60,000 Miles on Jaguar XKR

The automatic transmission oil is synthetic and Jaguar claims it never needs changing. However, to prolong the transmission life, our technicians strongly recommend changing the automatic transmission oil at 60,000 miles.

Use only Jaguar-approved fluid and carefully follow the Jaguar instructions for refilling the transmission.

Do my car need transmission service at this time?
2000 Jaguar XKR59,000
I've had my XKR 7 years and have always been concerned about not changing the transmission fluid. I'm going to insist it be done as I hear the transmission has a tendency to get stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear eventually and then you need a rebuild for $3-4K. My concern is when do you sell it to avoid the upcoming maintenance costs???
