chang the rotor button distribter cap and pick up sener still not getting fier on 1994 GMC 1500 Pickup

it was running one day drove it to the stor came home and went a bout a hour later never started agane

Replace distributor assembly, worn bushings are a common problem and can affect ignition fire due to improper air gap. Can hookup new dist. turn by hand, with key on dist. housing grounded to see if any spark from coil. No need for cap to be on the dist. it will still fire the coil. 'IF' coil is good!!
