The headlights on my Passat look cracked and oxidized due to 7+ years the FL sun. I tried to fix them with a TurleWax repair kit but it did nothing. I then purchased the headlamp assemblies online and thought I could install them myself. Turned out that the difficultly and time required prevented me from doing it. I called Central Florida Auto Repair and asked what they would do it for. They said it was a ~3 hour job and would be $200 to $300. I dropped my car off a couple of days later and said the headlamps were in the trunk. About a half hour later, Brain called me to tell me that new headlamps weren't needed as they could make the lenses clear for ~$80! Needless to say, their honesty was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend them to anyone I know.

My plan was originally to write a favorable review based on my first visit. My problem was quickly found and repaired. My subsequent visits proved to be far less favorable. I took my `96 Corvette to the shop because it was running too hot. I will say it was promptly looked at. I was shown an upper radiator hose that was close to bursting and told that my thermostat needed to be replaced. I agreed and the work was completed in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, the thermostat replacement did nothing to address my overheating problem. I brought the car back a few days later and was told I would need to replace the cooling fan switch with one that comes on at a lower temperature. I opted to do some research online before installing a new switch. After consulting an online Corvette forum, I decided to take a look under my car. With very little effort, I found two plastic bags in between my radiator and the AC condenser. I pulled them out and the car no longer runs hot. To be honest, in spite of what numerous friends suggested, I opted to give them another chance. I went to the shop today explained what happened, without any animosity, and I went so far as to say I wanted to keep them as my repair shop of choice. What I got was Frank, the owner, telling me that he`s sure my friends, who told me to find another mechanic don`t make mistakes, dropping $120.00 on the counter and walking away without saying a word. I can deal with somebody making a mistake and offering some sort of apology. What I got was a mistake and a bad attitude. Unacceptable. I will say, however, that Brian was courteous and attentive in addressing my problem. Since my original review, I have increased both ratings by one star because the work that was done, was done competently, in a timely fashion and some aspects of customer service were adequate.

I do not know the user name or know the vehicle repaired but that is OK as sometime being an anonomus reviewer is better and there is less chance of "slanted"review. We appreciate your trust and honesty as we do with all our customers who have supported us for the last 19 years.THANK YOU Frank Dee and Brian

I did some research to find a repair shop to fix my grand-daughters Honda Accord turn signal issue. ( Her 1st car) Being a professional auto mechanic myself I am well aware of what an electrical problem in the dash can be. But me being 500 miles away I could not help her out. I am completely satisfied with the service and honesty that I received. The price to repair it was very reasonable and maybe even low in my opinion. They have another long term customer. Thanks Frank

This is the best car repair shop I have ever been to in the 40 years that I have been driving. My wife and I have two Hondas and a Ford pick-up and Frank and his staff have done top notch work on all of them. I have also taken my daughter's Corolla and her husband's Mazda Speed and they knew what to do with all of these diverse models, whether the fix was large, or small. The quality work, fair pricing, and above all, the integrity that I found here will keep me coming back for many years. Thank you Frank, Dee and Brian.

Central FL Auto Repair is awesome! I actually found them on the internet while searching for a new mechanic. The place I had been taking my car to closed down. As soon as I talked to Frank on the phone about my car I felt comfortable and I had already talked to a few people. I am so glad that I went to his shop! He has saved me hundreds, his staff is friendly and the service is first class. I have found my new mechanic.

02 Ram 1500-ran hot and missing with ck eng lt on.Told it was a headgasket and water getting into engine.Quote was for big money I dont have.I sought another opinion because I had to.Talked to Frank by phone, had a diagnostic test and was it worth it. Problem was a very small leak at the radiator top and coolant would get blown into plug holes by fan-No Head Gasket! I would not hesitate to recommend this shop to you and pay for another opinion.

took my mini van to these guys for a shaking in the rear that the last shop tried to fix a number of times. It turns out the last guy who worked on the brakes put on the wrong drums and my wheels would not bolt up correctly. This could have been dangerous. They have my business from now on.

Frank has maintained "my Fleet" of 4 family cars for 5 years. All I can say is I am glad to have found this shop.It started with a another shops misdiagnosed head gasket which Frank found to be a leaking intake gasket instead-saved me from a $1300 unneeded repair. The same guys have worked there for years so the quality is always consistent and they even do tires.I have saved money and time using this shop over the years. I shopped around for a repair to my van for a transmission seal leak.Frank @ Cen Fl Auto Repair not only took the time to explain in detail why I had a leak at the front seal converter but told with the high mileage and updates now required ,why I would benefit from a complete overhaul not a patch for now and double labor. Some other local trans shop told me they could "tear it down and inspect it",but would not give a firm quote .When I told them I was shopping they said about 1700 IF it needed everything, but they may be able to save me money... Cen FL Auto Repair told me up front the total cost of 1400 from the start.Plus the warranty was the same.I did not fell anxious about my repair outcome and total bill.

I have been posting all over the internet my praises of this shop.
I live in Ocala and I found Frankback in May 2009 thru Suncoast ,a Jag conversion shop. I was told by 2 Import shops in Ocala and Gainsville that I needed a engine to the cost of 8-10K .My upper timing chain was broken.I talked to Frank and he stated that the engine should be fine, may only need head work for bent valves. I Towed car down to him because he made me fell comfortable about the repair procedure.Frank mechanics diagnosed it did the complete timing chain job for about 2K and the engine is fine,no valve work.I also had him check the supposed bad heater core which was only plugged up.They blew it out and it fine since.I continue to go to this shop even though it is far for me-Good Job GuysFlag ThisLike0 -

With dealers going out I was in search of a new shop to do my maintenance and needed repairs on my Suburban. Not only did Frank and his techs do my 90k service but was lower priced that the dealer flyer.I also asked about my Toyota Camry timing belt and they were right on line with the estimate I looked up on here. They Are my New Shop. Now I know why they have been there for 17 years by referrals.
Thanks Guys...HBFlag ThisLike0
