I have a problem with my civic (B16A auto).
The CEL will turn on when I start the car.
After running few kilometres, shut down the engine and restart, the CEL will act normal.
It not happens when I start the car with engine warm enough.
Try to retrieve the error code by jumping the diagnostic wire, but the CEL gives no codes.
Please help me to solve the problem.
anyway i live in Malaysia and the temperature approximately 28-35 degree Celsius

Is it like this when you bought the car?

Guess it's not made to U.S. or Canada federal emissions specs , for use in Malaysia? No OBDII port under dash to plug scanner into?..Any starting problems , like extended crank time when it's cold? Although for us (U.S.) 82-95d egrees fahrenheit would not be 'cold'...Any other symptoms? Performance poor over 3000RPMs? Coolant level and mix correct and oil good?

yes its an imported Japanese car by previous owner. no other weird symptoms happen. it run as usual except with the CEL illuminate. Now using OBD 1

1997 should be OBDII specs? OBDI - maybe jumping wrong wires?
use a scanner not a paper clip
