cd player on 2006 Chevrolet Malibu

Just after the warranty on my car expired the cd player stopped working. In checking with the dealer the entire panel, e.g., radio and cd player, would have to be removed and replaced at a cost of $700.00 Anyone got any suggests, as I miss playing cds. Thanks.

Have you tried asking the Dealership if they can assist you in the cost? Sometimes they have an ability to to this, it's called "goodwill" program and it is for customers just out of warranty. Sometimes they may pay for part of the repair or all of it. If the dealer wont help, call GM Customer Assistance. The number should be in your owners manual
