Question: cause of split inner cv boot

I sent my car in to have the front panel replaced after someone ran into the left front part of my car. I was told it was only a cosmetic damage. I wasn't pleased with the garage then as i had to bring in a few more times with 'noises' coming from the same part of the car. 6 months down the line, my new mechanic now tells that the inner CV boot has split open at the SAME left front of my car. could this be the related to the damage earlier from the accident or a bad job done by my previous mechanic.

If its the inner cv boot I highly doubt it was caused by the accident. either way you need to replace it before your cv joint dries out snd you have to replace that. (but if its been a while you might just want to replace the cv joint anyway, since you have to pull the drive axle to replace the boot.)

I'm not sure have always done my own. It's not complicated if you are mechanically minded at all go to autozone and purchase a mantainence manual and it will take you through it step by step. I do know you will save at least 3/4 of the money you wouls have to pay a shop to do it for you. unless you have a good friend that will help
