my check engine light came on. mechanic used machine to see what the code was. came up P420. he said i needed to get a toyota cat, but it was like $1000, so i bought a magnaflow from autozone for 280, 5 yr warranty. check engine light came on again 2 weeks later. theres a rotten egg smell sometimes when i drive. he checked car again and says that either its the air flow sensor or the car isn't taking the cat. Do i really need a toyota cat or the one i have in now is ok? what do you think could be the proble,m?
