Updated Expansion Valve to Correct Leaks and Poor Performance

The AC Expansion Valve may develop a very slow leak or allow too much refrigerant flow which reduces cooling. Our technicians tell us that Toyota makes an updated expansion valve to resolve these problems if and when they occur.

Throttle Position Sensor Out of Adjustment Due to Wear/Carbon Build-up

The Throttle Position Sensor can get out of adjustment due to wear in the throttle body or due to carbon build up. This will cause the idle timing to advance more than 30 degrees which will cause very high HC and NOx emissions. Conversely, the Throttle Position Sensors can wear out and not properly advance the timing which causes a lack of power and poor fuel economy.

AC Compressor May Wear by 150,000 Miles in Warm/Humid Climates

Typically the AC compressor is worn out by about 150,000 miles in warm and/or humid climates. It is recommended to replace the complete compressor including a new clutch and rpm sensor, and to replace the receiver/dryer as well.

1994 Toyota Tercel Reviews

I bought this car in 2004, had it for four years; only reason for that is because a friend of mine really wanted to buy it, and I needed the money anyway. Best car I ever had; over 400 miles on one tank of gas, only routine maintenance; nothing too bad. Would love to have it again if I am Stateside!
Runs and runs and runs and runs. Have had it three years. EXCELLENT on gas. Parts kind of expensive but when it's fixed, it's FIXED. Great car.
I love my Toyata Tercel and have had it for 16 yrs...since new! I would buy another and think as far as repairs..it is good...change oil every 6 months and get tune-ups and your car will be happy and run well with good gas mileage. It is a great car...oh...and just 54,000 miles to date...Im not a driver..I like to walk a lot...lol!
