The amber front running lights, located in the head light assembly may melt or crack their lens. The correction at this time is to replace the head light assembly.
At higher mileages, (125,000-150,000) the automatic transmission may not shift correctly. This can be caused by the throttle position sensor being out of adjustment or a shift solenoid needing to be replaced. Typically the transmission does not need to be completely overhauled.
I got rid of my 2009 Taco because of noise during nonacceleration around 70 mph. I'll be darned if the 2011 doesn't do it also! Come to find out that it is a known problem that they didn't tell me about until I had traded vehicles. It is a serious rattle during times of slack accelerator pedal at higher speeds.

It only happens on curvy roads
It is due for a oil change that I will be doing, but the lit staying on is driving me crazy.
There was a recall on this problem(12V092000).It only included model years 2005-2009.Called Toyota customer service # and was told my trucks VIN # was not included.I checked for diagnostic codes using an actron pocket scan plus(CP9550)and it read no codes.

Southeast Toyota is recalling certain vehicles because the seat heater element may become damaged as a result of compression of the seat cushion. The damaged element could short causing burning of the seat cushion, increasing the risk of personal injury. Dealers will disconnect seat heaters with copper strand elements and refund the purchase price of the seat heater accessory to correct this concern.
The leaf springs may fracture and move out of position, puncturing the fuel tank. Dealers will install new leaf spring assemblies free of charge to resolve the concern.
The spare tire size and air pressure may be misstated on the tire placard sticker located on the vehicle. This can lead to improper air being inflated in the spare tire, which could result in tire failure. Owners can install replacement stickers as mailed to them, or seek the assistance of a dealer free of charge to resolve the concern.
