The amber front running lights, located in the head light assembly may melt or crack their lens. The correction at this time is to replace the head light assembly.

Electrical & Lights -- wildi and 1 other

Running lights crack but headlight housing does not allow replacement of just daylight running lens. The entire front headlight assembly has to be replaced. Approximately $900 OEM repair. After market lights range from $150/pair to $400/pair for top of the line HID lights. Toyota charging $350 - $400 per light assembly and this is a manufacturing issue.

If not present, an inappropriate load may be carried in the vehicle, increasing a safety risk. Toyota has supplied customers with a new label to affix to the vehicle. This recall began on August 18, 2009.

Southeast Toyota is recalling 2005–2011 models for failing to comply with federal safety standards on tire selection and rims. Affected models were sold without the proper load-carrying capacity modification labels, which may cause the driver to overload the vehicle, increasing the chance of a crash. Dealers will mail the correct labels to the customer or install the label free of charge.

Toyota is recalling 2004–2010 models for an accelerator pedal that can get stuck in the wide open position due to problems with the floor mat. This may cause high vehicle speeds that make it difficult to stop the vehicle, which can result in a crash. In order to correct the problem, dealers will replace the pedals, alter the shape of the floor, and/or replace the floor mats. Toyota will also modify software on certain models to ensure that the brake overrides the accelerator in the event that both are applied.

Due to a calibration error, the tire pressure monitoring system warning light may not illuminate to warn of incorrect tire pressure. Driving with the incorrect tire pressure can result in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will re-initialize the tire pressure monitoring system to restore proper operation. Bought new. Rear tires blew first gravel road I took it on.
Windshield shattered in the driveway, first snow fall.
Vynel flaking off the dash, after 2 years.
Breaks go almost to the floor since day one, and dealership does nothing to fix them. All you smell is fuel every time you start it.
Transmission acting up right at 60,000; had to be fix.
Biggest piece of crap I could have bought.
NEVER EVER AGAIN.

bought my 1st toyota pickup 5 yrs ago loved the truck took alot 2 get her running paid $2000 for it had sum major issues for a 91 took it to the toyota place and they told me theyd give me $3500 for it on a new 08 tacoma so i did it shure glad i did ive got 60,000 miles on her now getn 28mpg compaired to the 15mpg on the 91 . been upgradeing this 1 since i got it afe cold air intake,tornado,fuel miser,dual catback exhaust,bed cover,,side steps. soon to come body armor front bumper and a chip from gforce.im going to drive this truck till theres nothing left then fix it and drive some more
