2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser RecallsSpare Tire Information Misstated On Tire Plackard
The spare tire size and air pressure may be misstated on the tire placard sticker located on the vehicle. This can lead to improper air being inflated in the spare tire, which could result in tire failure. Owners can install replacement stickers as mailed to them, or seek the assistance of a dealer free of charge to resolve the concern.
Certain FJ models were equipped with auxiliary driving lights mounted to the front bumper. If these lights are used in conjunction with the high beam headlights, the total illumination exceeds federal safety standards. The resulting glare to oncoming traffic could reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the original 55 watt auxiliary driving light bulbs with 35 watt bulbs to correct this concern.
Vehicles have a tire size/weight rating label to inform owners of the carrying capacity of their vehicle. These models are being recalled because the incorrect vehicle weight rating is shown on the information label. This could result in vehicle and tire overloading, increasing the risk of tire failure. Owners will be provided an updated vehicle weight label to correct this concern.
