Sounds like the Camry is under warranty, and if the dealer can't solve the problem call the Regional Toyota help center and explain what is happening.

On most new cars you cannot replace individual light bulbs in the climate control panel. Check with your local Toyota parts supplier to see if replacement bulbs are available. If no replacements are available you will need to replace the complete climate control panel.

How do I pop off the lining under the trunk lid so that I can replace stop light bulbs?

I'm pretty sure the owner's manual has detailed instructions on how to replace most of the light bulbs on your car.

how do I reset the check engine light to turn it off. I know how to read the codes and find the problems and repair them but I don't know the procedure to get the dash light to go out. It won't pass smog with the check engine light on.
Thanks

You can just disconnect the negative battery terminal for 30 seconds on an early Toyota and that will do the trick. If the light comes right back on, there is another code or the code is still not properly repaired. Let me know if this helps I have a lot of experience with OBDI Toyotas.

I have a 94 toyota camry. It will not start. We have checked out the battery, starter, and made sure there is a good connection on the battery. We have also checked out the starter fuse. Is there a seperate selenoid on the car that might be bad, or would anyone have any other ideas.

Thank you

Does the starter not crank at all? Does it crank but not start the engine? If it does not crank at all, check the wires to the starter, including the signal wire! The signal wire to the starter on my pickup became disconnected so I would only hear a click from the starter relay when I tried to start the engine.
If your engine cranks, but does not start, that could be a different problem entirely.

That's because the Blue Tooth in the Camry is JUST for making calls.

It is not a problem with the phone. It's only designed for sending and receiving calls.

How do I adjust the headlamps on my 97 Camry? Driver's side seems very low.

Best Answer

hemicuda, December 15, 2008, 10:12

Usually there's a screw at the top of the headlight mounting ring that needs to be screwed in to make the headlight aim higher, Park in front of your garage door to see where the headlights are shining and adjust the bulb until it is shining a little lower than the passenger side bulb because you don't want it to shine into oncoming traffic.

Marcn 164, 2004 Toyota Camry, December 14, 2008, 10:20

I drive a 2004 Toyota Camry XLE with just 29K miles on it.
And i have problem which only occurs when it is 17 degrees or below outside.
2 weeks ago when it was only 9F outside, I turned the car on so it warms up beofre I leave for school. After half a mile I noticed that the coolant is starting to boil and the needle on the meter was all the way in the red. It happened to me 2 days later as well, however it didn't boil becasue I pulled over in time. My mechanic was 100% sure that this was the thermostat so I got it replaced.
It's been week and a half since the thermostat has been replaced, but 2 days ago it happened to me again.
Again, it only happens when it's below 17F outside, car is on for 10 minutes and on my dashboard it shows that coolant temperature is in the middle (like between cold and hot) but it should be half of it. My a/c doesnt work even if its set for 75F. After the temp starts going up, I turn off the car, turn it back on and everything is back to normal..
What can be wrong??? Could it be like a temperature sensor or something?
Help, please!! Thanks!
the coolant liquid is full in the little container under the hood.

Are you sure that you have 50/50 mix of anti-freeze in it? It sound like the water in the radiator is freezing up.

You normally buy anti-freeze and then add equal amounts of water. Howver, some antifreeze manufacturers recently began selling anti-freeze that is pre-mixed with the correct amount of water. If you bought some pre-mixed 50/50 anti-freeze, and added water to that, then you may not have sufficient protection against freezing.

Mine is still running strong with 206k miles on the car! Nothing major needed repair just a new Thermostat, and the usual tune up. an Other than that there is no need to worry about anything! For the styling and lighting and emmissions flawless. I've customized all of my interior and upgraded under the hood. Camry is BEAST

brickracer 1998 Toyota Camry Oakland, CA December 22, 2008 08:57

I had the Camry for about 7 years and it started to go downhill towards the end. I have high expectations for Toyota since they are supposed to be the most reliable but I found little things going wrong and needing repair like the dashboard lights and window switches.

The engine also had some oil leaks which required the valve cover gasket to be replaced. The car never handled very well. Initially it handled like a boat so I put some aftermarket wheels and sport springs on the camry and they ended up rubbing inside the fender wells when I would hit a bump so it was never quite right. I decided to get a Honda for my next car and that has been better.

Drives like a Toyota should.

speedrover 1995 Toyota Camry Greensboro, NC November 30, 2008 10:59

Like a fine wine, 1995 was an exceptional year for the Camry. They kept it simple, strong and with a surprising amount of design finesse. The engine and trans simply will not die, or shoe signs of wear long into the 100 and 200's with regular fluid changes. The key to life here is not to force high torque out of her. She will float with just the right amount of stop and go as long as you treat her right. Outstanding lifer!

felixintahoe 1990 Toyota Camry South Lake Tahoe, CA November 25, 2008 17:40

Odojoe 2002 Toyota Camry Orlando, FL October 15, 2008 16:01

I have 77500 miles on my XLE and other than replacing tires once wheel balancing, the only other major expenses have been to clean the fuel induction and reseal the oil pan which had a very tiny leak, and replace the drive belts. I am still on my original brakes.

very reliable, no major problems with regular maintenance 75000 miles driven

Natalya 1996 Toyota Camry Walnut Creek, CA August 27, 2008 07:07

The car has 170,000 miles on it but still works great as long as it receives regular maintenance. After 12 years the only problem I've come across is oil leaks which are easily fixed.

Toyota Camry Problems

Engine The motor mount on the passenger side of the car can wear out on cars with high mileage. This will put extra stress on the other mounts, and the faulty mount will need to be replaced.
Exhaust & Emissions
  • The Check Engine Light comes on because a component of the oxygen sensor stops working and the car is unable to determine the proper ratio of air to fuel for the engine.
  • Intermittent failures of a purge control valve in the evaporative emission system cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate.
Drive Train Toyota issued a recall on certain cars with automatic transmissions because a defect allowed the key to be removed from the ignition without shifting the transmission into "Park."
Suspension & Steering
  • The power steering pump and power steering hoses tend to develop leaks, particularly in the V6 models.
  • Driving over bumps causes loud, annoying noises in the body of the car. If the noise is a groaning or creaking, it can be improved by lubricating the rubber joints in the suspension system. If the noise is a rattling sound, the problem is likely wear and tear on the upper mounting plate for the strut suspension.
Electrical & Lights If the car will not start, the most likely problem is worn or corroded solenoid contacts in the starter. Usually, these parts can be replaced without purchasing a new starter.

Defect Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A THREE-SPOKE STYLE STEERING WHEEL. DURING AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE BOTTOM SEAM OF THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG MODULE COVER (HORN PAD) COULD BE TORN AWAY ALLOWING THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE COVER TO COMPLETELY DETACH FROM THE AIR BAG MODULE.

Consequence Summary: IF THIS SHOULD OCCUR, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE DETACHED BOTTOM PORTION MAY STRIKE THE DRIVER CAUSING PERSONAL INJURY.
