In certain states, where salt is used to de-ice the roads, corrosion can occur at the four-way joint connector of the hydraulic braking system leading to a brake fluid leak. This fluid loss can result in longer than expected stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will apply an anti-corrosion wax to the four-way joint connector area to correct this concern. Some vehicles previously recalled of this concern may not have been repaired correctly. In addition, owners of vehicles outside of the affected states may request this recall be performed. Please contact your dealer to determine exactly how this recall affects your vehicle.

The brake master cylinder could malfunction unexpectedly, causing increased brake pedal effort necessary to slow or stop the vehicle. This may result in increased stopping distance, which could lead to a crash. Dealers will inspect the brake master cylinder and replace it as necessary. The Subaru recall number is WVY-35.
