2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Problems

Check Engine Light Due to Failed Knock Sensor

The Check Engine Light may illuminate because of a failed knock sensor. Although the sensor often tests okay, it can fail intermittently, while the vehicle is being driven.

Improved Spark Plug Wires for Misfire Issues

Sometimes the Check Engine Light illuminates because the computer detects misfires. Subaru released an improved spark plug wire set to solve the problem. The ignition coil should also be inspected for carbon tracks or short circuits between the contacts.

Poor Braking Performance

In certain states, where salt is used to de-ice the roads, corrosion can occur at the four-way joint connector of the hydraulic braking system leading to a brake fluid leak. This fluid loss can result in longer than expected stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will apply an anti-corrosion wax to the four-way joint connector area to correct this concern. Some vehicles previously recalled of this concern may not have been repaired correctly. In addition, owners of vehicles outside of the affected states may request this recall be performed. Please contact your dealer to determine exactly how this recall affects your vehicle.
