2010 Saab 9-3 ProblemsThe Ignition Key May Become Stuck in the Ignition Lock Cylinder
If the ignition switch is turned to the "lock" position when the vehicle speed is over 5km/hour, the ignition key cannot be removed from the lock cylinder. This is not a defect, but a normal design feature. In order to remove the key: Turn the ignition to the "on" position, wait several seconds, turn ignition to "lock" and remove the key.
When trying to close the window, the window glass will drop a few inches after reaching the closed position.This can happen on any window that has the automatic closing feature.
The system that prevents you from being injured by the automatically closing windows is called the "pinch protection system" and this system needs to be reset, reprogrammed or is defective.
In your owners manual you will find instructions on how to reset this feature. If that doesn't work, you'll need a Saab repair shop or Dealership to check for a software update for the pinch protection system, or see if there is a defective part. Have the shop reference the Saab Technical Service Bulletin (TSB #831-2639)to help address this issue.
A knocking noise while turning and/or a banging noise when driving on rough roads may develop in the front suspension. This type of noise is commonly caused by a front strut thrust bearing damaged due to water intrusion. Our technicians tell us revised thrust bearings are available to correct this concern.

2010 Saab 9-3 RecallsDriver's Frontal Air Bag Inflator Ruptures And Sprays Metal Fragments
The driver's frontal air bag inflator may deploy the air bag with excessive pressure, resulting in the inflator rupturing and causing metal debris to be sprayed onto vehicle occupants. Dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag inflator free of charge to resolve the concern.
The seat belt retractor for the driver's front seat may break, resulting in the belt not retracting properly and securing the occupant. Dealers will replace the driver's front seat belt retractor free of charge to resolve the problem.
The fuel pump may have been incorrectly manufactured and could fail causing the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the fuel pump on affected vehicles. The recall is scheduled to begin by February 18, 2011. The Saab recall number is 15029.
