1998 Oldsmobile Cutlass Problems

Dash back lighting stops working due to faulty panel dimmer module
The instrument panel light dimmer module may fail causing the dash back lighting to stop working.
ABS light due to weak battery or burned out bulb
If the ABS light on the instrument panel illuminates, our technicians recommend checking the battery first. A weak battery can cause the ABS light to turn on. A brake light that is not working or has burned out can also cause the ABS light to illuminate.
AC Blower Inop Due to Failed Resistor

The HVAC blower motor may stop working at one or more speeds due to a faulty blower motor resistor block. Our technicians recommend to confirm the resistor is at fault by first checking the operation of the switch.

Other than that all I ever put into it for work was routine maintenance and break pads. Motor still ran great when I retired it at 258,000 miles when the transmission went. Considering miles I don't feel it was a bad vehicle at ...
The button on the gearshift is very hard to push in. Tried lubricating it but it didn't help.
