The passlock sensor in the ignition lock cylinder may fail causing an anti-theft system fault and a no start condition. Our technicians tell us that the ignition lock cylinder should be replace to correct this condition.
A coolant leak may develop from the water pump. The engine may overheat as a result of the coolant loss. A leaking water pump should be replaced.
The turn signal switch may fail causing the hazard/turn signal flasher to continue to click even when the turn signal switch is off. Replacing the faulty turn signal switch will commonly correct this condition.
2002 Oldsmobile Alero QuestionsWhat's the cost for a new ignition and key. Who can tow it to the repair place (1 answer)
The ignition and where the key goes is super glued and it's at Bob's towing and it needs a new ignition and key so we can get out of there
Replacing the inner tie rod to rack and pinion. I just need the torque specs for this on a 2002 with a 3.4 motor.
2002 Oldsmobile Alero RecallsIgnition Lock Cylinder Concern
Excess weight on the key ring can cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position without warning, turning off the engine. This defect can also affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. Dealers will provide two replacement key rings and key cover on all ignition keys to correct this concern.
