1999 Nissan Quest Repair and Maintenance

A guide to problems, costs, maintenance and repair for your 1999 Nissan Quest

1999 Nissan Quest Problems

A thumping heard and felt in the floor is often caused by failing engine mounts. A failing mount allows too much movement of the engine, and will require replacement.

The distributor shaft bearing can become rusty, and seize causing the engine to stall or not start. The failed distributor will commonly require replacement.

The fuel injectors can fail and cause drivability problems. Often there is no Check Engine light and the failures can be caused by corrosion of the connector, clogging beyond the point of cleaning, and/or internal failures.

1999 Nissan Quest Questions

When climbing a hill it will drop off to as little as 20 mpr. When it shifts down it almost seem to loose speed faster. The MAF censer seems to check ok.

I FEEL SOME SHAKING IN THE CAR STEERING, AND WHEN TURNING WHEEL HARD LEFT, SOUNDS AS THOUGH SOMETHING WILL BREAK. SOUNDS AND FEELS LIKE BRAKES ARE ON WHEN DRIVING, ALSO. IS IT MASTER CYLINDER, STRUTS, WHEEL ALIGNMENT? DON'T HAVE A CLUE, AND AS A WOMAN, DON'T WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF, EITHER....

I am borrowing a scan suite from a parts store. I am wondering how I can define the codes. Can I get them by connecting the unit to a computer, or does that only work for updates and to print?
