The exhaust manifold often warps and cracks, breaking off the studs between the cylinder head and the exhaust manifold. The noise may be most noticeable when the engine is cold.

1995 Nissan Pathfinder Problems
The engine may not crank when the key is turned to "start" if the starter relay fails. This can be confused with a defective starter motor.
A problem with the mass air flow sensor can result in poor engine performance or drivability problems. This may cause the car to stall or misfire.
The Owners Manual for the 4x4 Model Nissan Pathfinders eludes to the likeliness that the transmission will fail when using mismatched/mixed tire types, brands or sizes..... This is due to the type of hubs used for this vehicles "on the fly 4x4" option.... which keeps the hubs engaged, but not full-lock position, even when not in 4x4 mode!

1995 Nissan Pathfinder Reviews
I've had my 1995 Nissan Pathfinder since it was brand new it now has 250,000 miles on it, that's like to the moon and on the way back, and it still runs like new. I've owned many cars before, during and now, it is hands down the absolute best vehicle I've ever owned.
I love my truck, but it has some "quirks" that drive me crazy. The a/c never gets quite cool enough, which is an issue when it's 112 outside and you have a 45-minute drive at four in the afternoon. The fact that it's black with charcoal leather probably doesn't help either when it comes to cooling off.
I've driven a 25-foot moving van with a better turning radius. Don't know if they were going for stability to compensate for the higher center of gravity or what, but it takes a full cul-de-sac to make a u-turn
And the least significant -- and most annoying -- who on earth decided to put the cup holders in the armrest??? You have to flip it up in order to put a drink there, which rubs against the elbow and requires a contortionist to remove.
On the plus side, it is very comfortable. The first year I had it, I spent weekends driving 800mi round trip to see an ailing family member, and I never had backaches or discomfort from the trip, unlike my previous vehicle.
It doesn't get great gas mileage, but it's not terrible either - I average about 20 - 22 in the city.
I can fit my gear, my teen, and my dogs for long trips, and nobody complains about lack of legroom. Overall this has been a great ride for the last 7 years, and I plan to keep her for at least another 100K.
