1991 Nissan 300ZX Problems

Fuel Injectors May Fail and Cause Drivability Concerns

The fuel injectors can fail and cause drivability problems. Often there is no Check Engine light and the failures can be caused by corrosion of the connector, clogging beyond the point of cleaning, and/or internal failures.

Air injection components may fail and cause vehicle to fail smog test

If the vehicle fails the “State Smog Test” due to high emission readings, components in the pollution control system (air injection components) may have failed due to moisture and may need to be replaced.

Check PCV valves if vehicle emits blue smoke

If the car is emitting blue smoke from the tail pipe, from burned oil, be sure both PCV valves are functioning properly prior to replacing the turbocharger.
