2000 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 ProblemsBrake Light Switch Failure May Cause ESP/BAS Warning Lights
The ESP and BAS warning lights may illuminate due to a failed brake light switch. Replacement of the failed switch should correct this concern.
The electrical connector at the automatic transmission may leak fluid. Over time leaking fluid could migrate through the wiring harness and damage the transmission control module. If that happens a new harness and control module may be necessary to correct the problem.
Internal and External engine oil & coolant leaks can develop from the head gasket and/or timing cover gasket; these leaks should be repaired before the engine oil and coolant intermix which can result in severe engine damage.
2000 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 QuestionsHow do you reset the pop off valve? (1 answer)
I have been told it's just a faulty scener switch?
It has been like this for about a year. Every once in a while it will work normally for a few days, but mostly not. The odometer works fine. Banging on the dash didn't seem to help. Thanks.
