2008 Mazda RX-8 Problems

If the climate control's heat/cold knob is not adjusting to the desired temperature, a new climate control unit may be needed.

Hesitation and/or a lack of power can be caused by the secondary shutter valve (SSV) in the intake manifold becoming stuck open due to carbon build up around the SSV shaft. This may occur with no Check Engine light illumination but eventually the light will illuminate with code P2070 (Secondary Shutter Valve [SSV] stuck open). The cleaning procedure described under the service bulletin is a long process and it is recommended to install the updated SSV actuator and gaskets. The SSV is activated at higher RPM and the carbon accumulation can happen when it opens infrequently. The effects RX-8's built before April 18, 2007.

I noticed about 50,000 miles the radiator light would flicker on and off. The engine temperature alwys stayed in the normal region and the radiator was full of fluid. The Mazda repair guy told me that this is accuring in a lot of the RX-8s. There is a plastic waffer on the gauge ball inside the radiator that measures the fluid. This limited regional recall is for vehicles currently registered or first sold in Florida, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and equipped with Takata-brand air bag inflators. Upon deployment the driver and/or passenger airbag inflator could rupture, increasing the risk of personal injury. Mazda dealers will replace the affected airbag inflator modules to correct this concern.

my car have hesitation by sticky SSV problem.but i connect the valve governer directly to main suction(jumping control solonoids) and the it seemrd to cure the problem. i want to know the side effects by doing so? PLS contace.i m in burma and the repairs are out of reached.please help
