2000 Mazda B2500 Repair and Maintenance

A guide to problems, costs, maintenance and repair for your 2000 Mazda B2500

2000 Mazda B2500 Problems

Rough Running Idle, ABS Light Illuminated, and Check Engine Light

Water intrusion into a connector (X309) located under the cab, beneath the driver's seat, can cause a rough idle, erratic speedometer operation, ABS Light and Check Engine Light illumination, and automatic transmission shifting problems. If needed, connector repair parts are available from Mazda dealers, and possibly some Ford dealers.

High Engine Idle with Manual Transmission

A high idle speed can be caused by a poor connection at the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Connector replacement kits are available from Mazda dealers and possibly some Ford dealers.

Crank but No Start Condition and No Spark

The engine may fail to start due to an electrically shorted sensor. Some of the sensors may internally short and not blow any fuses. A technician may find no spark and no operation of the fuel injectors in the diagnosis. One way a technician may isolate the defective sensor is by disconnecting sensors one by one to see if the engine starts.

2000 Mazda B2500 Reviews

Hi. My little groovy green truck has been absolutely wonderful for me. I bought it in graduate school after having a very bad accident where I totaled a 1988 Mazda pick up. I figured if that model saved my life that a new one would be just as good. Having had it since 325 miles, it now has 138,500 miles. The only major issue was the alternator burnt out and stopped me in my tracks. I know these...
This truck is great, 10 years old but still runs like new.
