1990 Mazda 929 Problems

Knocking from suspension on rough roads due to worn or loose sway bar links
A knocking sound heard from the front or rear suspension while driving over rough roads may be caused by the sway bar linkages. The linkages should be inspected for tightness and condition; there are redesigned linkages if replacement is necessary.
Rumbling Noise, Possible Loss of Power

If a rumbling noise is heard from the engine, along with a possible loss in power, it may be caused by a collapsed hydraulic timing belt tensioner creating excessive cam backlash. Our technicians recommend replacing the timing belt and water pump at the same time, if they have not been recently replaced.

ABS Light Illuminated Intermittently

If the ABS light is on intermittently, it may be due to a loose ABS ring on the rear axle. If a loose ABS ring is found during inspection, replacement of the ABS ring and affected drive axle may be necessary.
