2008 Kia Sedona Recalls

Hood Opens While Driving

The secondary hood latch may stick in the open position and not fully secure the hood. This could allow the hood to open while driving. Dealers will replace the secondary hood latch or clean and lubricate the latch, depending on the vehicle's location and the condition of the latch free of charge to resolve the concern.

Front Suspension Lower Control Arms Break

The front lower control arms may fracture and separate from the vehicle due to exposure to road salt and corrosion. Dealers will replace the front lower control arms or add additional corrosion protection to existing control arms as needed free of charge to resolve the concern.

Potential Loss of Vehicle Control

Vehicles first sold or currently registered in areas where salt is used to de-ice the roads are being recalled because one or both front lower control arms may break due to excess corrosion. The lower control arm is part of the front suspension. If one were to break loss of vehicle control could occur, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect the front lower control arms and will rustproof or replace them as necessary.

Overall I LOVE my van!! I bought it used in June 2009 from a dealer who had leased it. I traded in my 2002 Kia Sedona for this one with over 175,000 miles on it. I am finding at approximately the same mileage (80,000 miles) I am having the same problem with the air conditioning system not working. It is starting to make me worry about the other problems now that may be around the corner. M...
Overall the Van is ok when it's working, but I've have had 2 times where the car was inoperable. First the car's computer had an issue that would shut off the car. Had to spend the night in an hotel while they fixed it. Second had an issue with not being able to turn the key in the ignition lock, bad ignition lock cylinder. Starting to have a similar problem again. Their Customer Service d...
