2010 Jeep Patriot ProblemsPremature CVT Transmission Failure
There have been numerous complaints of early transmission failure, even with with normal servicing. Issues start with a whining noise, overheat warnings, and an inability to accelerate. The most common solution is replacement of the transmission. Late 2014 model year Patriots changed to a non-CVT transmission.
My '08 Jeep Patriot eats lower ball joints. The right front was replaced at 36k miles. Left one went out at 43k miles. We called Chrysler to file a complaint and they paid to have it replaced at the dealership . We are now replacing the one the left front once again for third time! I heard the '07s were recalled for these and auto parts store said they can't keep them on the shelves.
Water leaks may be noted from the front and/or rear roof area. Our technicians recommend to inspect the roof ditch and sunroof - Check all grommets and plugs, reseal roof seams, and replace the sunroof drain tubes if necessary.
2010 Jeep Patriot QuestionsWhat could cause traction control and cruise control to both stop working correctly? Started with wheel bearing replacement/fixing recalled airbag issue. New tires, new cruise control switch - still an issue. No codes are showing. (1 answer)
traction control flashes and engine bogs down to nearly a stop when I try to pull out onto highway without driving around first. Cruise shuts off at 70 mph and won't turn back on until I slow significantly while repeatedly pressing button.
2010 Jeep Patriot RecallsThe Airbags May not Deploy As Expected
The airbag system contains various components which deploy to help protect vehicle occupants if a crash occurs. These vehicles are being recalled because the seatbelt pre-tensioners and/or side airbags may be slow to deploy when needed. Delayed deployment will increase the risk of personal injury. Dealers will update the airbag system software to correct this concern.
