2008 Jeep Patriot Repair and Maintenance

A guide to problems, costs, maintenance and repair for your 2008 Jeep Patriot

2008 Jeep Patriot Problems

Water leaks may be noted from the front and/or rear roof area. Our technicians recommend to inspect the roof ditch and sunroof - Check all grommets and plugs, reseal roof seams, and replace the sunroof drain tubes if necessary.

A no crank or no start condition may develop due to electronic lockup of the wireless control module (WCM), also referred to as the Sentry Key Remote Entry Module (SKREEM). When this module fails the remote keyless entry system will also not operate. The WCM is commonly replaced to correct this concern.

Vehicles equipped with manual transmissions may become difficult to shift. The repair may involve replacing the 3rd/4th/5ht & reverse gear synchronizer rings as a set.

I bought a Jeep Patriot 2008 4 months ago. First it was the brake parts that weren't covered under warrenty. Then the pullys and another part needed to be repaired. Finally the alternator. Its not starting tonight and I wish I had never bought it.

Can't complain, even though jeep currently needs work done to it. I have over 175,000 miles on it, and we've had belt pulley, alternator, a few switches/sensors, CONTROL ARMS, TIE RODS, and other minor repair work done. The roads where we live are rough, and the jeep has been used, alot. It's gone through many life situations and all kinds of weather. It was a demo they were looking to sell...
