1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Problems

Water Leak and Sloshing Due to Clogged Evaporator Drain

The AC evaporator drain commonly clogs and causes water to leak onto the passenger side floor. A sloshing noise may also be heard from the water inside the heater housing. Decaying organic debris in the housing may cause an odor. A service bulletin (TSB 24-06-96) was released; it describes how to clean the drain tube without removing the heater AC housing.

Noise from differential
Excessive gear noise can indicate differential bearing failures.
Oil Leaks at Valve Cover/Intake Gaskets and Rear Crankshaft Seal Area Are Common

External oil leaks from the valve cover gaskets, intake manifold gaskets (front or rear), and the rear crankshaft seal area are common. The rear main seal is an unlikely source. Normally, leaks in this area are from the bearing cap mating surfaces as well as the sealing surface between the oil pan and bearing cap.

Potential Fuel Tank Leak

It has been determined the fuel tank in these vehicles is at risk of leakage during a rear end collision. To correct this concern dealers will inspect the rear of the vehicle and perform one of the following: A Chrysler designed tow hitch will be installed on vehicles not equipped with a tow hitch, provided the condition of the vehicles can support support proper installation. The tow hitch on vehicles already equipped will be inspected and replaced and/or repaired as necessary, again provided the vehicle is sound and can support proper instillation.

Chrysler Recalls 1993-1998 Grand Cherokees Due to Issue with Shifting Lever

Chrysler has recalled 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokees because if a driver has not placed the shifter lever fully into the "Park" position and leaves the vehicle running, the vehicle may unexpectedly move rearward. This may result in a crash. Dealers will install a secondary detent system to the floor shifter assembly.

We bought this lemon from a used car sales man, Who was moving out of the state and we got a raw deal. The guy said all it need was a wheel baring, Which wasn't even the case, Now we cant even found out the right price to fix the transfer case. Loved the car used to have another one before this..
