2008 Infiniti EX35 Problems
A brake pulsation or steering wheel vibration may be noted when braking, especially at highway speeds. Our technicians tell us that replacing the front brake backing plates, resurfacing or replacing the front brake rotors, and inspecting the front brake pads and caliper hardware and replacing as necessary will generally correct this concern.
All wheel drive vehicles may develop a groaning type noise from the steering rack when centering the steering wheel after turning right at slow speeds, most noticeable when driven from a cold start. Our technicians tell us a revised steering rack is available to correct this concern.
The GPS screen may intermittently "lock up" and the faulty can be corrected by turning off the ignition for several minutes. Our technicians tell us that updating the GPS software should correct this concern.
2008 Infiniti EX35 Questions
i was told my O2 sensor was bad, one converter was bad, and one was weak. I have not noticed any reduction in performance or unusual noise.
The brake light indicator illuminates and goes away and then leaves the VDC, LDW and stability control indicators on until the car is stopped and restarted. Does not do it on very gradual acceleration???? sensor??? computer???
2008 Infiniti EX35 Recalls
A problem with the steering column may cause a failure in the upper steering bearing, which can lead to increased play in the steering wheel and a loss of vehicle control, either of which can result in an unsafe driving condition. Dealers will replace affected steering wheel column parts free of charge.
This recall affects certain vehicles equipped Occupant Classification System (OCS) control units manufactured by Continental Automotive Systems. A varistor in the OCS control unit may have been manufactured out of specification. Under certain conditions, this could interupt the signal between the OCS and the air bag control unit (ACU), causing the passenger air bag to be suppressed in an accident. If the air bag does not deploy when needed in a crash, the risk of injury is increased. Dealers will test the signal between the OCS and ACU with a special tool to verify proper function. The seat cushion containing the OCS hardware will be replaced as necessary. The recall began November 4, 2008.
The air bag control unit (ACU) may not deploy the passenger side air bag in a collision if the battery voltage is too low. This may cause injury or death in a collision. Dealers will reprogram the ACU. The Nissan recall number is P8201. The recall began on February 19, 2008.
