At Idle the engine idle fluctuates. It goes from a good idle to a very fast one while at a stop. There is a loss of power when the accelerator is pushed, a slight hesitation.
Yesterday I was driving and all of a sudden my gas pedal lost all spring, and it barely moves. This has caused very slow acceleration. My check engine light did not come on, and it does not seem to be anything else wrong.
2002 Hyundai Elantra RecallsHyundai Recalls Certain 2001–2003 Vehicles Due to Corrosion on Front Lower Control Arms
Hyundai is recalling 2001–2003 Elantra and Tiburon vehicles in areas of the country with heavy concentrations of road salt usage. Corrosion and thinning of the steel in the front lower control arms may progress to a point where the panels become perforated, which can cause a fracture between the ball joint and pivot attachments to the chassis. This could reduce driver control over the vehicle, which may increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect and replace the affected front lower control arms.
