2001 GMC Yukon Problems

Engine -- Verified

A coolant leak may develop from the water pump. This can result in an engine overheating condition. A leaking water pump will require replacement.

Engine -- Verified

The intake manifold gasket may develop and external engine oil or coolant leak. In some cases, an internal coolant leak may occur causing coolant to mix with the engine oil. Running the engine with a coolant/oil mix may result in engine damage. Replacing the intake manifold gasket should correct this issue.

Engine -- Verified

The fuel pump may fail causing the engine to stall and not restart. Our technicians recommend replacing the fuel filter every 30,000 miles to help prevent undue strain on the fuel pump.

Heating & Air Conditioning -- Verified

Extended life coolant may become contaminated and require cooling system service before the recommended 100,000 miles.

Maintenance -- Verified

Our technicians recommend flushing the brake fluid every 60,000 miles.  Brake fluid that is dirty may cause problems in the brake system.

2001 GMC Yukon Reviews

well, i have had my 2001 for about a year and a half now. i bought it off of my father inlaw. i love my yukon. the only problems i have had in the time i have had t is that my a/c - heat setting has stopped working on the 1 and 2. 3 4 and 5 are still great. the major thing i have had was that my power steering went out at 100k miles, it worked just fine up untill the nite it quit. now i have 20" wheels so that may have caused it. the other thing is that i had to have my transmission replaced at about 110k. that was a shocker but again it has had some ware and tare, it has towed a 17 foot bass boat to Canada every year for the last 8 years straight. other than those little mishaps. it has been an awesome truck. (since the new tranny was installed it has been a beast)
