2001 GMC Yukon XL 2500 ProblemsSpeedometer or Other Instrument Panel Gauge May Work Erratically
The speedometer or other instrument panel gauge may begin to work erratically at times. Our technicians tell us that the instrument cluster must be sent to a repair facility to correct this fault. The warranty has been extended on some of these units to 7 years or 70,000 miles.
Illumination of the Check Engine Light can be caused by a loose or worn gas cap.
The spark plugs should be replaced every 100,000 miles. Our technicians recommend replacing the spark plug wires also at this time.
2001 GMC Yukon XL 2500 QuestionsMy Yukon ended up in a water filled ditch up to the windshield. (1 answer)
I have dried out fuse boxes, electrical plugs and checked the ECU. The water also filled the floorboards inside, just in the front. I purged the water from the cylinders and drained the oil. Vehicle will start but will only run for a couple seconds and then shut off. I need help to figure this out.

2001 GMC Yukon XL 2500 RecallsGM Recalls 2000-2001 1500-2500 Trucks and SUVs Due to Fuel Pump Wiring Overheating
The wiring to the fuel pump may overheat, which may cause multiple concerns. The fuse for the pump may blow, which will prevent the vehicle from starting and running. A check engine light may come on from connector damage. Fuel may leak out of the connector body and create a fire hazard. Dealers will remove the fuel tank and remove the module reservoir assemblies from the fuel tank, and install a new service kit.
