Shifting harshness and shuddering issues related to the operation of the automatic transmission have been addressed by factory service bulletins. The shuddering can feel like the vehicle is being driven over rumble strips.
Coolant leaks coming from the underbody on vehicles equipped with rear heat/AC are common. The underbody hoses should be inspected as part of regular maintenance. If you drive on roads where salt is prevalent the problem is generally more severe. Some 2005 models are involved in a special service action, no government recall was issued.
Intermittently, the key may not start the car or release from the ignition. If it is excessively worn, replace the key. If the new key doesn't work, replacing the lock cylinder including tumblers should correct this concern.

A friend of mine has a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan and those dreadful lights are on (ABS/ESP/BAS) and when driving the brakes wants to engage. 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan Recalls
If the ignition key unexpectedly moves to the OFF or ACCESSORY position, the engine will turn off. This will depower various safety systems including but not limited to airbags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or injury in the event of a crash. The weight of extra items on the ignition key ring can be a contributing factor to this unexpected occurrence. Until this recall is completed customers are advised to remove all other items from the ignition key ring. Dealers will modify the ignition switch to correct this concern.
Condensation from the AC (HVAC) system may leak from the drain grommet onto the occupant restraint control (ORC) module. This can lead to illumination of the airbag warning light and/or inadvertent airbag deployment. An inadvertent airbag deployment could result in injury and/or a vehicle crash. Dealers will replace the affected airbag module to correct this concern. This recall is expected to begin during August of 2011. The Chrysler recall number is L01.
Chrysler is recalling certain 2008 Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles to correct a possible water leak from the heating and A/C (HVAC) drain grommet. The water intrusion may cause illumination of the air bag light or inadvertent air bag deployment. Dealers will replace the HVAC drain grommet free of charge.
2008 Dodge Grand Caravan Reviews
Wouldn't not purchase another Chrysler my headliner is leaking and Dodge nor Chrysler want even reimbursement me. I hate this van and tell everyone on experience had with Chrysler. I had other problems with doors, engine, brakes, fluids and bearings. This van is a lemon I will be looking at Toyota next for the family minivan.
Bought 2008 with 39,000 at 41,000 A/C is out, not sure why. Mech says they had problem with lines. The car idles loud and rattles, then gets quieter as it warms up. Not real impressed with comfort of seats, the cushions are to thin and the hand rests are hard plastic. Cool looking, but our 2000 van was more comfortable and only develped one small leak, which was fixed. Bought for people moving ...
Bought this motor in 09 with 6000 on clock. 4.0 ltr auto loaded. Red. Like the style but not happy with the flexible plastic front. Can not understand why they put the air intake down so low to the ground. I have had to remove the first stage to avoid getting road spray in to engine. Do not try to drive thru flood water or ford unless you want to kill your engine. Lousey headroom for driver an...
