2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser ProblemsEngine & Ignition shutting down
Today, 2/9/2015, my engine and ignition just shut down - completely stop while I was driving. This is dangerous and very scary. It is a computer and other problem which is Chrysler's fault and no fault of mine -- even though Chrysler does not make these PT Cruisers any more, it should be a recall. Chrysler owes me to fix this car for free or give me another one that is almost free since I should not be needing a car.
If the engine does not crank (or cranks but won't start), the wireless control module (WCM) may have locked up. This is due to static discharge through the ignition key. A revised model should be installed, but simply disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for thirty seconds will temporarily reset the module so you can start the car.
"False" trouble codes may cause erroneous illumination of the Check Engine Light. Updating the PCM software can often correct this concern.
2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser QuestionsMy car has been sitting for 3 months, I had the battery charged, but the car will not start (1 answer)
A recent repair had my car battery disconnected for a long time and now car is fixed but key fob for remote door locks doesn't work It's NOT the fob battery and I don't have a spare fob either. Can anyone help with how to reset or IF I can? Thanks, Steve in San Diego
Ignition key fob has lock/unlock/panic buttons. Ater repair of a few days the remote doesn't work. I don't think it's the battery as it was fine before.
