2002 Chevrolet Venture Problems

Rear Lights May Not Work Due to Rear Light Socket Plate Failure

The rear light socket plate may fail causing a brake light or other rear light to stop working.

Intake Manifold Gasket May Leak Coolant or Engine Oil

The intake manifold gasket may develop and external engine oil or coolant leak. In some cases, an internal coolant leak may occur causing coolant to mix with the engine oil. Our technicians tell us that operating the engine  with a coolant/oil mix can result in internal engine damage. Replacing the intake manifold gasket should correct these leaks.

Check Engine Light Due to Gas Cap Issue

Illumination of the Check Engine Light can be caused by a loose or worn gas cap.

The Fuel Tank Inlet Check Valve Can Crack and Leak

Due to variations in the manufacturing process, or exposure to high heat may lead to a fracture in the tank inlet check valve. Fuel vapors may pass through the fracture and accumulate on the side of the fuel tank. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire. Dealers will replace the fuel tank. The recall began December 4, 2007. The GM recall number is 06230.

2002 Chevrolet Venture Reviews

I have had electrical, cruise control, front wiper transmission wiper motor ABS system, and water leaking in the front and can't find where it is coming from, but the worst part is the body rust. Overall the van has preformed relativity well considering I have 445,800 miles on it and its still going.
Nothing but problems with my van that has 82,000 miles. Just about anything that can go wrong, that is expensive to fix, has gone wrong. Never another GM car for me after this nightmare. Japanese car, here I come. Worst car I have ever owned.
I'm really hating this choice in vehicles.
