2002 Chevrolet Tahoe Recalls
The courtesy lamps on affected running boards may overheat when exposed to moisture and road salt. Overheating may cause the lamps and boards to melt or start a fire. Dealers will replace the wiring harness for these running boards.
Two potential pinch points exist on the second row seats when the head restraints are folded rearward and the seat back is folded down. If a person were to insert their finger(s) into the pinch point, it could trap and pinch the finger(s) causing injury. Dealers will install protective covers over the pinch points. The recall began November 22, 2002.
2002 Chevrolet Tahoe Reviews
We have owned this vehicle since 2005 with only two problems: 1. transmission needed to be rebuilt and 2. front upper and lower ball joints and control arms. Otherwise this has been an extraordinary vehicle.
I bought this new in 2002. I have been impressed and disappointed at the same time. In the 8 1/2 years that I've own this car I've had to replace the transmission twice. The fist time I took it to the dealer and they replaced the broken disc. The second time I didn't trust the dealer so I took it to AAMCO. Both times were fixed under warranty... easily could have cost me well over $2,400. ...
Don't drive with the parking brake on by mistake, even for a short time or the parking brake shoes will need to be replaced. one other major proplem area is the fuel pump - it may leave you stranded! Very nice vechile otherwise. You can carry or tow just about anything.
