The two half shafts transfer power from the transmission to the front wheels. On vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, the right half shaft could break unexpectedly resulting in loss of drive power to the drive wheels. If this were to happen the vehicle would coast to a stop and no longer be able to move under its own power. Dealers will replace the right half shaft assembly on affected vehicles to correct this concern.
