2013 Chevrolet Cruze RecallsIgnition Key May Be Removed Without Transmission Lever Shifted To Park
The ignition key may be able to be removed from the ignition switch without having the transmission shift lever securely in the park position. This could allow the vehicle to roll unexpectedly. Dealers will inspect and if necessary replace the key cylinder lock housing free of charge to resolve the concern.
In cold temperatures, the insulation on the engine block heater cord can become damaged, allowing the wires to be exposed. Exposed wires increase the risk of electrical shock and personal injury if the cord is handled while it is plugged in. Dealers will replace the block heater cord with one rated for lower temperatures free of charge to correct this concern.
The driver's front airbag inflator may have been manufactured with an incorrect part. If a crash occurs requiring deployment of the driver's airbag, the inflator may rupture and the airbag may not inflate. The rupture could cause metal fragments to strike and potentially seriously injure the vehicle occupants. Additionally, if the airbag does not inflate, the driver is at an increased risk of injury. Dealers will replace the driver side airbag to correct this concern.
